Dear All,

The pre-Easter period is a good time to summarize the main activities of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology carried out in Q1 2023:

• Representatives of the Chamber actively participated in the first meetings of the Monitoring Committee of the European Funds for a Smart Economy – FENG Program (on January 18, February 1 and March 29), and were nominated to 5 FENG working groups. The total amount of funding provided for in the 2023 FENG program call schedule is nearly PLN 21 billion, which is about 60% of the FENG allocation.
• Established in January, the IZTECH Working Group on the EU Horizon Europe Research & Innovation Framework Program (2021-2027) (HE WG) prepared a position paper as part of the European Commission’s consultation “Public consultation on the past, present and future of the European Research & Innovation Framework programs 2014-2027.” IZTECH’s position was noted by the influential European portal ScienceBusiness and cited among 6 other positions by organizations such as LERU and EARTO. A total of 2,700 views were submitted to the EC consultation. 
• The Chamber has begun as a consortium partner to implement the first-ever project funded by the EU Framework Programs. Project title: European Digital Innovation Hub of Mazovia – Mazovia EDIH (Digital Europe program, consortium coordinator: Ł-PIAP).
• IZTECH was a co-organizer of the Conference on Programs and Support Measures for Innovative Technologies for Automation, Industrial Measurement and Robotization, organized by the Chamber’s subsidiary, CEZATECH – Center for Prospective Technology Applications – an event accompanying the XXVII International Trade Fair for Automation and Measurements AUTOMATICON (Warsaw, EXPO XXI, March 7-9). The conference was very popular due to the high level of content provided by the topics (starting with the FENG program offer and ending with the support instruments of Horizon Europe and Digital Europe), as well as excellent speakers representing: Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, PARP, PIAP and IPPT PAN. 
• In March, we received with great satisfaction the information that 42 of the 49 awarded young scientists in the 13th Edition of the LIDER program represent IZTECH member institutions. The project of Dr. Eng. Piotr Madej – a representative of the Institute of Non-ferrous Metals – received the highest score. Congratulations to the winners!

And what awaits us in the coming months? First of all, more meetings of the HE WG and work on joint projects, training packages and preparation of the national Horizon Europe Partnership Forum, planned for this fall.

In the meantime, at the end of June and the beginning of July, the Chamber’s Council Meeting and General Assembly of Members will be held, combined with the celebration of the 15th anniversary of our organization.
